Thanks - I had spotted this and it has helped in that I have managed to get the default Cessna up ..
It may have been the plugin and it may not. I had saved the base package under a different name - FlightGear CVS - and the console had reported failure to find base package, which was weird as it was all in the same tree - no changes just a straightforward download. When I changed the name it worked. Odd. BTW - does the Eurocopter work for you? I get background sounds and movement - just no aircraft / cockpit!
