Hi Paul, I am running FlightGear both on 32 and 64 bit. On 64-bit I used to have a specially compiled version for a long time, but I found that with a few extra 32-bit libraries the 32-bit version runs just as fine on Slackware 64 (in my case Slamd64 12.1), so at the moment I only use one single version.
Note that I compiled this version by myself as I wasn't able to get the sound going with the version compiled by Jon Stockill due to incompatibilities with the probably non-standard version of "openal" or dependent soundlibs he used. I spent a week to try to get the sound on his version going but then compiled a working version in only one evening, so the latter is probably more efficient and always fits your system like a glove :-) Regards, Kees Lemmens.
