Previously I asked about waypoint following in a C172. Curt said that the default c172 autopilot "models a specific autopilot" and disables any of the "more fictitious built in Flightgear autopilot features." What are those features?
Also, I found that I could use the route manager to direct the C172 if I changed the input for the heading select mode in KAP140.xml from heading-bug-error-deg to true-heading-error-deg. This lets me control the plane, but the plane isnt going in the right spot (basically, I told it to go north east and it is going hard north). Im still not up to speed on what the difference between a bug-error and a normal error is... Anywise, I plan on continuing to root around in the code to figure this out, but essentially all I want to do is feed waypoints to a Cessna. Seems like this is possible with a little fiddling around in the KAP140 file. Once I can figure out how to do that, I might be able to remotely assign waypoints over a socket... i hope.
