Chris,

For now I will make do with manually doing a group drawing sideways.  I only
need to do a few sideways images, and once done they will be re-imported
wherever I need them.  Once I finish the GUI interface my minimalist button
set could be expanded on to include rotations at a later date.

Unless you fancy a Christmas project that is :-)

I'm afraid not -- there isn't any general way to do it for all types of 
DrawObjects. I suppose it could be time to put in some affine transform 
machinery though.
