i'll put my vote in that i think a google groups would be just fine
(and i would kind of prefer that as i have a few other google groups
lists that i subscribe to).

i also think that for the non-subsribers that stumble on this list,
google groups has a much better interface for browsing/searching
threads than mailman has.
