I recommend using either Google Groups or Yahoo Groups. Both are very
stable and very durable in the long-term. My preference is Google.
Do you know if there is any way to get the archives from Mailman into
google groups?
I know of no easy way to do this.
if you are just looking for a Mailman archive, I am happy to provide
Mailman service at Dreamhost, where I privately host the simson.net,
afflib.org, forensicswiki.org, and many other domains. Dreamhost is a
full-featured ISP which is quite cheap. I can add floatcanvas with no
additional expenditure of funds on my part, and I can give you
management privs on the private domain. The one problem with dreamhost
is availability --- their uptime is approximately 99%. But that
wouln't be a problem for this mailing list.
Does someone volunteer to set up a google group? Ideally, we would
move
the folks on the current list to it, so we wouldn't need to ask
everyone
to go sign up, but I don't know how hard that would be.
If you would rather go this route, I am happy to set it up.
One other option:
Robin has said we can host it on list.wxwidgets.org, the same place
where the wxpython lists are.
There is a certain simplicity having all of the python stuff housed at
the same location. That would be my recommendation if it is an option.
