FloatCanvas is a wx.Panel, so I don't think there should be anything 
special about it.


What I'd do to debug is make a very simple custom class -- maybe a 
do-nothing subclass of wx.Panel, and see if you can get wxGlade to 
acknowledge that.

However, I don't know anything about wxGlade. Perhaps someone on a 
wxGlade list or team can help.
