1) If your 7200 is looking okay CPU wise turning on NetFlow usually won't cause problems. On some platforms with some types of traffic (usually scanning) NetFlow can lead to some performance decline. Usually when we see a 7200 with performance problems NetFlow is used to figure out why, so not enabling it just makes diagnosing problems harder.

2) flow-capture will manage disk space on its own.

3) If you don't enable exports with 'ip flow-export a.b.c.d' then the router will not export the flows. Flows that are not exported do not get saved anywhere, ie the router won't run out of memory.

Subject: Netflow ON

Just wanting to be sure that when I type "ip flow-export version 5
peer-as" and the other commands from netflow-howto.php to turn on the
netflow data... I just want to be sure that it wont fill up the router
and kill it. I verified its compatible with the version were on (7206
running 122-23). Im just wondering where all these logs go if it cannot
access the capture device? I think on the capture device enabling disk
quotas was a good way to prevent the hdd from locking up, I just want to
be sure it wont fill the router up if it doesn't know where to export
the data?

Thanks

Ross
