I started working on collecting flows into a MySQL
database for our company and noticed that flow-export
only exported IP addresses in dotted quad format. This
requires a varchar up to 15 bytes per address where
using longint only requires a 4 byte int in MySQL.
This should speed things up and require a lot less
space (I'm currently saving 23 bytes per flow record).
At any rate, if anyone else is interested in the
patch, or better yet, if someone wants to rewrite it
and include it into the next release that would be
great. Mine is a complete hack so rewriting would be a
much better idea. The patch adds another option "-l"
for "long int". It can be found here, also with a link
to FC4 RPMs that have the patch included:

Thanks!
