[STR New] Link: http://www.fltk.org/str.php?L2808 Version: 1.3.0 If I use od(1) to make an octal dump of your file and save that pure ascii octal dump to a file, then edit that in editor and resave, I still get corruptions. So apparently it's not anything special about the file (ie. not tabs, crlfs, or utf8).. it seems more to do with the file's size causing the problem.
