Due to the nature of open source, a lot of the developers have
full time jobs that often distract them from the project for months
at a time, so they may not be watching at the moment.
It's unlikely to get everyone's eyes on something new, but once
it's been out there a while, those folks will catch up in the newsgroups
and will chime in.
I think that as you start into coding, those folks will weigh in,
so be ready for that. Take your time putting it all together, and
that way it will allow some time for everyone to become familiar
with what you're proposing.
