I also checked the Windows version(s) of fl_xid(), and this was okay. I'm leaving the STR open for now and I'd appreciate if someone could confirm that fl_xid.cxx works on Mac OS X w/o problems - please do two tests: one with FL_INTERNALS defined and one w/o it (see comments in fl_xid.cxx).
