Sorry - it just wasn't designed that way... Somebody (might have been Greg?) had a widget for interpreting ANSI terminal sequences, that could presumably set foreground and background colours, would that be any good? Or do you actually need it to be a text editor too? In which case, well, that may take a wee bit of subclassing of the Fl_Text_* widgets to implement, I'm afraid...
