I have been asked to investigate the best GUI toolset for a handheld application. I am the application manager in a large FMCG company and we are looking at implementing technology to allow our drivers to use handheld devices to link back to the main server via GPRS technology.
I have decided that C++ would be better than Java for various non-important issues right now but the reality is that there will be a need for a user friendly GUI interface for the drivers. Would FLTK be a good fit for this? >From what I have seen it would seem so - it is small and cross platform. 3 things: 1] Is it small enough? 2] Is it too limited in its offerings : i.e there is no tree control 3] What are the alternatives? wxWidgets? - lots of functionality but too big IMHO.
