Hey all,

Thanks, Tona, for posting this. A good starting point for sure.

Hi Tona - thanks for the document! I have uploaded it to a publically editable
view in Google Docs
http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pBfC0IEb5EjBs5MSm9Nf0Cg so that we can
more easily share the task of
working on it. Perhaps long-term this should become a wiki-formatted
table? Although those are more cumbersome to work on than Google Docs.
Could people feed back on whether the link works for them?

Personally, I prefer having information right in the wiki. That said, it can be a bit of a chore to manage tables in the wiki. On the other hand, there is a {csv} macro that allows you to import data from Excel or other tabular formats. Maybe this would help us migrate the spreadsheet into the wiki, so it's easier for people to read and contribute to?

Just an idea. I don't want to make things too complicated. Maybe one of the more wiki-experienced members of the community can lend a hand as you're getting to know how the wiki markup works.

In terms of references, I think we should certainly add the MOMA to our collection - http://www.moma.org/explore/collection/ I think it represents a very good example of a base level of service we should look to be able to offer to all of our clients. The MOMA is one of the most forward- looking
institutions in terms of its conception of its digital assets.

A suggestion: perhaps a good next step would be to cross-reference this growing list of interesting museums with the members of the Fluid Engage advisory board. These people are here to help us make the project successful, so they'd be good people to learn from early on in the project.

The advisory board is listed here:

http://wiki.fluidproject.org/display/fluid/Fluid%2BEngage%2BTeam

At the moment, the institutions they are affiliated with are in Jess' diagram at the bottom of the page. We've asked the advisory board to join us on the [email protected] mailing list, so we can get in touch with them there.

What do you all think?

Colin
