Hey James,
Can you be our official Android phone orderer/handler of purchasing
things? And as such order a phone by a certain date -- how about
arbitrarily September 15th?
Jess

Design-wise, it's possible we'll need them by mid-September, so
ordering in early September seems like a good idea. Hopefully by then
the Dev Phone 1 will be back in stock, but if not, we can order an
unlocked one from eXpansys, or just buy a contract-free (but
carrier-locked) one from Rogers.
Developers, do you need an Android phone earlier?
From the technology perspective, sooner is better. I think it will
be beneficial to be able to get a feel for the depth of variation of
interactions across platforms, as well as to keep an eye on how our
code is faring in other environments even before we've begun to
actively support them.
That said, if it's just a question of a couple of weeks until
September, I think we'll be fine waiting. But let's not hold off too
long.
