Just had thought about zooming object images.
Our website uses a flash component called zoomify (http://www.zoomify.com/
). It is based on multiples resolutions of an image sliced up in
jpeg tiles. All our object images have been 'zoomified'.
Apparently, these files could be used by an AJAX based zoomer :
