Positive. It would bypass the login altogether and go directly to the inbox. I think it had something to do with some kind of caching associated with the name. I was just able to fix it by not deleting the broken app and creating a new app called gVoice. The new app worked, after which I was able to delete the old one and rename the new one Google Voice. Very weird.
