I am using Log Parser 2.2 to query IIS server logs and native server logs and
forward them as syslog events to the collect is a much better option than using
the Windows client.
I will be updating the query here and I hope it be placed in the next release
of the Flume.
Note:
The primary reason is companies/places that are 100% Windows do not like to
install Java on their web servers (the issue that caused me to write the batch
query) mainly because of patching and update issues.
