the following

In the UK (don't know about elsewhere) people have car stickers
that say " A
dog is for life not just for Christmas" to complain about people
who get
puppies for their kids at Christmas and then abandon them at
the end of
January. Cool variations I have seen of this are:
" A skateboard is for life not just for Christmas"
and
"A Pokemon is for life not just for Christmas"
