Hi all,
Well, I'm a pretty useless man at present but I'm catching up to speed again
I hope.
I've just added the izones of Tom and Wendy Grothus's visit to Carol Starr
to our gallery so go look at
http://www.artden.freeserve.co.uk/izone/izone.html
..it's great stuff, Carol sent me scans at different resolutions which I have
combined to try and give a new way of presenting the izones..I think it
works okay but as always feedback is appreciated.
BTW - Carol, I may have got some of the titles wrong, can you check and let
me know. Thanks.
So the useless man part. As some of you already know I was wondering whether
I would be able to make the Artist's Bookfair in London next week. I took on
some extra work at the beginning of September which has left me with
precious little free time and a mountain of stuff to do, not to mention being
constantly tired. As you can imagine, when I took on the work I didn't think
it'd be such a big commitment, but there you go.
In fact there were other associated problems with the Artist's Bookfair..one
of which was that even though I was going to be sharing a stall with friends
they're not refunding any of the money I spent out to book part of the stall
even though I shan't be using it now...lucky I have this extra job really.
Anyway, I have books etc. from a couple of you that I was going to sell at
the artist's bookfair...because of the money situation with these "friends"
I decided that I didn't want to give them anything to sell on my behalf just
in case. So currently I'm talking/trying to talk to a number of other
bookdealers who will be doing the fair to get them to take a few things for
sale there, including the Fluxlist box. Suffice to say I've messed up my
plans but am hoping to still promote the box and happy New Ears and the
other things in some way. I feel I should apologise to you all really for
this. I'm afraid this is the reality of trying to combine art with life some
times...makes you realise what a genius Maciunas was at organisation and
planning.
Anyway, those of you who I have works from I'll be getting in touch with. As
for everyone else I produced a postcard edition specially for the artist's
bookfair so perhaps you would like one of the postcards. They're nice,
glossy full-colour works with a printed reverse for your stamp and message.
If you would like a couple (I have about 950 at the moment)please e-mail me
your snail mail address offlist and I'll send you some, it's the least I can
do.
Well just to say that I wish you all more luck with organisation in your art
lives than I'm having at the moment. Also can anyone who is thinking of
going to Leicester on Friday the 8th December to see Emmett Williams, Henri
Chopin etc. let me know so we can arrange to meet.
cheers,
Sol.
