Lotts going on at the Squirrel this week off from meeting.
Tyler Munson donated another piece of sound gear, a multi-channel mic
mixer. This will allow us to use our wireless mics without taking up
most of the channels on the mixing board. It will also allow bands to
mic instruments if they so desire (and have enough mics and cables to do
it with). However we do not have the necessary cables to connect it to
our sound system. I will order some this week.
Someone donated 2 wood ladders. Both are very strdy. One is 6ft the
other 4. I put the shorter one in the sound room. It will be useful
for hooking up the lights without having to stand on chairs. The longer
one is in the big storage room upstairs. It should be tall enough for
painting. I threw out that broken wobbly ladder that was up there.
It's out with the garbage.
I'm working on getting an order for Flying Squirrel shirts together.
I'd like to see if we could have them in time for the shows coming up in
October. Tom says it'll take about 4 weeks to order the shirts and get
them printed. I'm thinking on ordering 30 including 4 black "Staff"
ones for our "security" volunteers. I'm thinking of getting these in XL
so they can be worn over existing clothing and kept at the Squirrel when
not in use.
A couple of building issues that warrant attention
The metal strip at the bottom of the front door is loose and presents a
tripping hazard.
There is a sizeable leak in the roof upstairs, where the vent pipe from
the upstairs heater goes out. It was enough to make everything that was
sitting on the counter wet.
