Hi all,

We are in the process of setting up an FME environment and I need a
bit of advice. My experience with the FME product, it is much
quicker to write the bulk of a transformation through WorkBench. The
issue comes when we want to execute this. We would like to use Unix
and CRON to schedule the transformation. This is for a couple of
reasons.

1) We need to devolve responsibily for batch scripts
2) Standard Windows scheduler only allows for daily execution of jobs
(I am sure that there are a multitude of other schedulers as well)

There are however downsides to writing the mapping file in Windows
and deploying it through UNIX. The biggest of course is the re-write
you have to do to make it function through UNIX when you create or
modify to the mapping file. I was wondering if anyone has written a
little utility that performs such a conversion (i.e. windows to unix
format)?

Thanks in advance

Cheers
Stuart Ross
