As the new MS ad campaign says: "You started it."
Oh, no, wait, that's wrong.

It's "You want to start something?"
How much more bullying could that slogan be?

You are saying that, if I hire you and I use Mac OS, and "it doesn't work"
(your determination) or "some compelling change is needed" (your
recommendation), then I have to buy Windows OS licenses and new FM licenses
to finish my project -- that I hired you for when I had a Mac OS?

"How conveeeeeniiiiiieeeeent"[1] for FileMaker, for MS and for you.

I only kid, Steven.

I am sure that you would not encourage a client to buy whole new licenses
for an OS and for FM before recommending another FM developer who actually
specializes in the OS they already use.

And I am only kidding. But the point is valid.

We can't go around bossing people about their OS. If we offer a project bid
based on the client's set-up, then we had better be proficient in that
set-up. We should not get stuck and then 'encourage' the client to change
something as fundamental, and possibly extremely costly, as changing
Operating Systems (and all that entails regarding other software).
