After recovering, have you tried performing a SaveAs and then a Compress
to see if that resolves the issue?

Subject: Recovering an FM database

Here's my dilemma.
I managed to accidentally delete a needed filemaker database by
emptying the trash (Mac OSX 10.4) Everything I've read online
generally says that deletes under Unix operating systems are pretty
much forever. Nevertheless, before writing anything else to disk I
managed to use Data Rescue to san and recover files from the
freespace on the disk. While it renamed the covered files, it did
manage to get the file type /icon correct for them and and the file
sizes seem to be correct from what I remember. The problem I'm
having is a variety of things. In almost all cases, a file will
launch the application, but it usually stops with a damage notice and
asks me to use the recover command. In some cases recover will
recover the file structure, but the fields say [table missing]. In
other cases it tells me it can't recover the file.

Does anyone know of other recovery options than the built in
filemaker function? Or how to look at a text level version of the data?

Thanks, as always,
