Hi folks:
I have a print/design production database that I have expanded upon for
many years. Now I'm about to embark on a magazine production scheduling
database that would be related to the main database. But before I
expend the necessary energy I was wondering if there was something
along this line already out there and I just haven't been able to track
it down on the web.
I'd really hate to "re-invent" this wheel if I don't have to. The
general gist of the program will be to coordinate multiple facets of
the magazine (features, cover story, department, etc.) from concept to
writing, photo shoots, editing, design and print production. The
emphasis will be on writing, editing, and design. There isn't any need
for invoicing or tracking of payroll—this will be student driven and an
in-house publication.
I'm not looking for a developer, I can do it, but my experience has
been that someone probably has done it and done it better than I can.
