Copy all your find requests to globals using the set field command.
OR
Display a window containing a bunch of globals that receive the find
criteria.
Set error check on
Enter find mode
Copy all your find criteria from the globals to the fields you use
when entering search values manually
[Use set field commands for this]
Perform find
Set error check off
If one record found goto SingleRecordForm
If more than one record found go to ListForm or if you want to a
selection list in order to get to a single record.
At least this is how I usually do it.

If I want to fill several fields with find criteria, how would I

I can manually fill the fields of a layout in the FIND view and it
works. But I cannot figure out how to do it in a script. I thought
that the Copy and Paste statements for each field would do it but
it seems that the first Copy loads values that are not replaced
when I issue the second one.
I am using Filemaker Pro 5.5
