That depends upon whether you changed the "default" at some time.
Let me explain. If you are in FileMaker, no particular layout, no particular field, and then select Format, Number...; any thing you add to your layouts after that point uses your default the next time you pull a number field over. It even "sticks" when you quit FileMaker and come back. Pretty handy if you need to use the same 'default' lots of times when you are developing. Pretty annoying if you have the *wrong* default and pull a field over. Remember to check your "defaults" for all the formats before you start developing. Then only change per field as needed. -- Beverly Voth Tier3 Data & Web Services Group, LLC 606-864-0041 http://www.tier3web.com/xml.htm Certified FileMaker 7 Developer Web Design & Hosting Coldfusion, Witango, PHP, MS SQL, MySQL, FMP, XML/XSLT, CSS Over 12 years experience integrating databases and the internet!
