That depends upon whether you changed the "default" at some time.

Let me explain. If you are in FileMaker, no particular layout, no particular
field, and then select Format, Number...; any thing you add to your layouts
after that point uses your default the next time you pull a number field
over. It even "sticks" when you quit FileMaker and come back.

Pretty handy if you need to use the same 'default' lots of times when you
are developing. Pretty annoying if you have the *wrong* default and pull a
field over.

Remember to check your "defaults" for all the formats before you start
developing. Then only change per field as needed.
