Time Functions

I have been trying to working with time functions in a script. When  
the script is run it would trigger a certain action on records that  
are 50 days old each day.  Obviously you can do a find that will  
search for records older than 50 days on any  given day. But I would  
like to automate the process so it would run first thing each  
morning. Is there a time function that would check to see if a record  
is 50 days old as does that find. Different records would have  
different dates in the future.
