Richmond, VA - January 09, 2008 - FMWebschool, Inc. Announces the FMWebschool FileMaker Web Masters Exchange. What if it was easy to find answers? What if you had some of the top experts in the industry answering your questions for free? FMWebschool's Web Master Exchange is an interactive forum that concentrates only on FileMaker web publishing. Forum members simply ask questions and assign point values to the questions. Experts compete to earn "Kudo's" points by providing the best answer. The forum member that asked the question, decides which experts question deserves the Kudo's points. There is a lot of talent in the FileMaker community, and we wanted to find an exciting way for individuals to share knowledge with one another and be rewarded at the same time. We needed to create an exciting environment that involved more interaction between the person asking the question and the experts answering the question. What did we do? We had several challenges. First we realized that there needed to be a quick and easy way to see questions that were new and un-answered. Second, we needed to apply a point value to that question. Third once the question had been answered it needed to reflect that. Lastly we needed to have a way for users to quickly navigate to the "accepted" answer with one mouse click. Here's what we did. When a forum member posts a question, they can assign the question a point value. Once the question is posted, their question is displayed along with a red point value designating how many points the question is worth. Experts compete to earn Kudos points by answering the question. The forum member that posted the question picks the best answer, and awards the Kudo points to the expert. The top 3 Kudos point winners are displayed across the top of the forum. Once the answer has been accepted, it turns to green, and the background of the question turns a light green as well. A button appears beside the original question that says, "see answer". When a user clicks this button, it takes them directly to the "accepted" answer. If a person on the forum sees a question, they know that they can go directly to the correct answer without having to read dozens of other replies. This is a perfect way for experts to establish themselves publicly as well as help the FileMaker community. Earned Kudos points can also be cashed in to sweeten the pot for really difficult or time sensitive questions. We've also added additional features that enable forum members to instantly tell a little more about themselves and their level of expertise. Forum members can add applications and technologies under their avatar. They can also assign their levels of proficiency as well as any comments they would like to make about their expertise in any give area. This is displayed automatically under their avatars. This is another great way for individuals that share "like" expertise to get together, or perhaps even a novice user needing to hire an expert for consulting on a project. This is only the beginning of the new features we will be adding to help bring the FileMaker community closer together. The FileMaker Web Masters Exchange focuses only on web technology.
