Nope. You really should do this with a related table. But I won't
get into structural questions here... [...] Hmmm... Not really. But
as I say database design is rather off the topic of this post.
well, it hasn't been off my mind. i'm just trying to weigh what is
going to be easier, to re-structure the database or write a script to
deal with it. it isn't a DB we will be using regularly once the
documentation is done, and the data entry in this manner is quite
easy for the person doing it, so it is essentially a human resources
question (at least for the moment).
So are you able to pad out the appropriate parts of your photo name now?
no not yet; if i can't, i may just have to change all the stored
values to 4-digit words...
