I have not used ODBC in Access.
I also have not used Access with SQL server etc: my reference is to SQL
within Access, so that you can create result tables and base forms or
reports on the result tables.
Takes care of all sorts of relationship problems I see in Filemaker, and
reporting is a breeze.

I'm curious:

1. Can you elaborate on what the differences are between Access' ODBC  
and FileMaker's ODBC?
2. Can Access' server version connect to SQL without the desktop  
versions needing to do so?
