I've just modified the field to use the 'Pop up menu' instead of the
'Drop down menu'and it shows all names including the ones after 'W' so
its only the drop down option that seems to have this restriction

Its always been a standard feature however one of my solutions has
decided to only show client's names to 'W' other client's with last

down list. Names like 'Young' etc. There are only 1825 names in the
client file and other solutions have in excess of 3000 that do not

The same drop down list was created in the client file and it also
only shows client's last names alphabetically to 'W'
If the 'sort' is modified to be by the first field, the ID number,
then all client's will be displayed, its only when the sort is by the
second field, the last name that it will only display all last names
up to 'W' and no further
I'm mystified, any clues please
