Database Problem

I added a step to a calc that has evidently tied up the database. It  
has been recalculating for 20 minutes or more and there are only 2600  
plus records.  I can't get to the field definitions without opening  
the database and that won't open until is reprocessing the  
calculation. I'm willing to wait but I fear something is wrong and it  
is locked.

Any suggestions?
