This problem has been solved, thanks to all the help on this forum plus some testing!
To show my Household record, a portal with one or more Persons, and another portal with grandchild tables for each person, the solution was to have a global PersonID field in Household, and relate all Grandchildren to the HouseholdID and the global PersonID in the Household table. Then clicking on a button in the Person portal sets the global field and goes to the Grandchild tables. Now a question: I have found myself, during testing, entering data into the Grandchild table without first clicking in the button!!! It "works", but adds my data to the wrong Grandchild! Any ideas how to prevent this? BTW I turn over to my user today. Many additions still expected! Many thanks! Ron Carr Enfield, NH
