Finding Italics in a Field Via a Script

I use FileMaker Pro 6.0v4 on my MacBook Pro (Tiger) (yes I know it is 
old, but it meets my needs) and I need to create a script that will 
locate italics within a field. The purpose is to surround the words 
that are in italics with html tags for export. I can write the script 
to add the tags, but I haven't been able to figure out how to get the 
script to recognize the italics.

Is this doable?
