Here's how to get the free files
Every month FMWebschool releases an exciting FileMaker newsletter to over
8000 FileMaker enthusiasts. Each issue is chock full of free FileMaker
sample files, how-to workshops and articles on how to grow your business.
To make sure you don't miss out on the opportunity to get the Twitter and
Skype sample files be sure to sign up before Monday April 20th.
This month FileMaker meets social media as we release FMTweet. Twitter has
become the one of the fastest growing social media sites, with a stunning
growth rate of 1382% compared to Facebook which grew 228%. Twitter is used
by a plethora of individuals ranging from movie stars to corporate giants.
FMTweet is a FileMaker solution that enables you to send messages to Twitter
without a plug-in. The database is completely unlocked so you can easily add
it to your own solutions. This is a great learning tool as well as we use
some complex scripting to make the magic happen. Have fun and add your
voice to the 2.6 million tweets sent every day. Not only are millions of
people tweeting, but they are using Skype to communicate with each other
worldwide.
FMSkype is another exciting FileMaker sample file that we are including with
this newsletter. Over 300 million people use Skype to make internet phone
calls and its user base is increasing in size by 30 million subscribers a
quarter.
FMSkype does several things; first it allows you to add your Skype contacts
to your FileMaker database. Currently, this is only supported by windows;
Mac users can add their contacts manually. Secondly you can make calls from
FileMaker by either selecting your contacts Skype name or their telephone
number.
FMSkype is completely unlocked, you can use the solution as is, or you can
copy our scripts and techniques to add it to your own solutions.
If you are a FileMaker enthusiast and you would like to learn how to be a
more creative programmer, or if you would like to learn how to market and
grow your business - the FMWebschool newsletter is just what you need.
We only send our newsletter out once a month. This issue will be released
on Monday April 20th - so be sure to subscribe right away!
