Although I am running FMSA on OSX, I had similar experience where the
server was running fine for months, then the admin console just froze up,
although the server was serving databases just fine.
Problem turned out to be the log files, which had grown to nearly 2gb.
Since all the files are loaded into ram when the console loads, so I am led
to believe, there was no room for the program to work.
After trashing the logs the server is running like new. Don't know if
this will will help you, but it's a place to start. I turned off the
extraneous logging and watch the size of the existent logs regularly.
