Hi Chuck,

What counts is the version of FileMaker Pro used to generate the runtime.

What is really happening is the binding process creates a crippled version of the resident database engine. It can't speak out in any way eg networking ODBC drivers, IWP.... However, if the engine is good for an OS in it's full form, it should be good for an OS in it's crippled form.

On some of the older versions of FMP, the runtime would actually work on previous OS versions that the full version would not, just because it did not have to mesh in with networking etc.

Dave

Greetings,

Does the flavor of the Windows OS impact on the success of a solution work?

For example.....

If I generate an FMP stand-alone solution in Windows XP Pro, will that solution work on a Windows platform using the Vista OS?

Regards,

Chuck
