If you want the privilege-based set to stick *regardless of layout* then check the 'Use as file default' option of the Install Menu Set script step - you'll also need to set each layout's set to 'Use file default'

I'm trying to put the (semi) finishing touches on a solution I've been working on for awhile. I understand how to create custom menus, how to assign a default menu set, and how to load a menu set in a script. But it's not working exactly like I expected it to, so I think I need some advice. What I'd like to do is assign a menu set based on access privileges, but I can't find a place to do that. I know I can install a custom menu set with a script BASED on a privilege set, but when the user navigates to a different layout or window, the default menu set assigned to the layout with then load. Again, I know I can control this with a script set in the layout navigation or a script trigger "on load", but is there no way to just SET a custom menu set once and have it stick until either shutdown or another script is called to set it? That's the way I thought it would work.... maybe I'm missing something.

Confused....
