As I understand it, reading both the Help file and my manuals, Get(RecordNumber) should return a record¹s current position in a found set.
Get(RecordID) returns a unique, internal number that identifies the record to Filemaker. But for some reason, they are both returning the same value, even when I have only 1 record found. I¹m running Filemaker 9.0v3 on a 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Mac with OS X v 10.5.8 I keep double-checking I¹ve defined the fields correctly, and I have. What¹s weirder, I have a calculation which inserts some extra text if Get(RecordNumber) = 1 and that is working on the first record of the set, although the Get(RecordNumber) field stubbornly shows, say, 50. Why are the results different when used within another calculation?
