You just need to open the file from the client app the same way you would any 
other hosted file, as a REMOTE file. FMP/A and server get along fine all the 
time. It's a common practice to put FMP robots on the same machine as the 
server that is hosting the files.

Stephen is absolutely right, though, in that you cannot open them LOCALLY at 
the same time with the two apps.
