I finally figured out what was disabling IWP on my server every few weeks. The Console aways showed that everything was normal but there was a stale IWP client still connected from the day the IWP stopped responding to users.
I have a system with custom record view restriction in privilege sets. When an instant web publishing user toggles the field that hides the record from view it locks up Instant Web Publishing for the entire server FMSA 11. I believe this is a bug in FileMaker Server software and have submitted feedback to the FileMaker web site. My server is running on a virtual server Win2008 platform using FMPSA 11.03. I tried to get around this by having the user run a script with full access privileges (but I left the field exposed for manual input). Rather than optimize the workaround with the resulting outages, I ended up running a server side schedule to toggle the conditional view field and have added another field for IWP users to mark for "delete tomorrow". -- Joel Bowers
