Modular FileMaker is a style of writing FileMaker applications that
focuses on portability. Its a guideline for helping developers write
code that is easier to share, test, and maintain. It doesn't force you
to adopt a massive framework or arcane naming convention. Just pick and
choose the modules that provide the functionality that you need. There
is also a repository of ready to go modules that can be dropped into any
solution.
