No, in order to qualify for upgrade pricing, the upgrade installer must search
for AND FIND an older qualifying copy of FileMaker Pro ON THE SAME HARD DRIVE
that you're trying to install the new one on. However, getting the old copy
there should be a fairly straightforward task, since you'll want to move all of
your old files — including programs — over from your old computer to your new
one when you upgrade your hardware. But be sure that your old FMP v10 makes the
journey along with everything else.
