Troi File Plug-in is a very powerful tool for getting access to information outside the FileMaker Pro database. Any files or folders stored on the computer can be accessed through the functions of the plug-in. All from within FileMaker Pro you can: - get data from files that are on the disk of the computer into FileMaker Pro - create files anywhere on the hard disk and put data from FileMaker fields into them - manipulate files and folders on the disk: this includes creating, deleting, copying, moving and modifying files and folders - get the size on disk, creation and modification dates and much more - launch and reveal files directly from FileMaker Pro - manage your images and movies, and read IPTC and Exif metadata from JPEG, Raw and PNG images What is new in version 8.0.1? Troi File Plug-in 8.0.1 has the following improvements: - (OS X) Improved the function TrFile_Search: on OS X 10.10 and with FileMaker Pro 14 the default search is now the Exhaustive search. This is the same as when using the switch "-exhaustive" on FileMaker Pro 13. You can no longer use the original (Carbon based) search on OS X 10.10 and FileMaker Pro 14, as this proved unreliable. - (Windows) Fixed a bug with the TrFile_GetDateCreated and TrFile_GetDateModified functions: they no longer return a $$-43 error (file not found) for ZIP files. This bug is also fixed for the variant functions, like for example TrFile_GetTimestampModified. - (Windows) Fixed a bug with the TrFile_GetDateCreated and TrFile_GetDateModified functions where getting the date of a folder would not always return the correct result. - Improved the function TrFile_Metadata when using the switch "-GetIPTC": fixed a possible crash when reading corrupt IPTC data (with malformed UTF8 text).
