Would it be more secure, if you would write all changes that should be made to a database and those commands were executed by a script that is run as cronjob? I know a script (confix for webhosters) that is working this way, but I don't know if it is really more secure or has other reasons.
Hi Chris,
we're using Confixx 1.6.3 and it's really okay, although navigation could be somewhat better (less clicking). Unfortunately Confixx is known to have some bugs, and we recently had some problems because it made some mess in the domain setup (you'll then have to fix this via telnet), but this should be a very rare problem. On the other hand we were told not to use the latest version (2.0) as it seems to have some serious bugs (you may find more information in related forums). Confixx is Perl / PHP based, unfortunately it's not free.
