Dear all

Apologies for cross-posting.

I am writing in regard to a contempt of court case currently pending in
Singapore, against a journalist who criticised the judiciary there. He
has been convicted for scandalising the court and is currently appealing
that conviction.

We are looking for good authorities on the common law offence of
scandalising the court, and in particular on:

- How the real risk test is to be applied

- The meaning and extent of fair criticism defence

We've got good South African, Canadian and New Zealand authorities so
that's covered. What we're looking for is useful stuff from India,
Pakistan, and elsewhere, ideally based on the common law (Singaporean
judges eagerly dismiss material that is not common law based on the
grounds that it's 'different').

Any suggestions are gratefully received.

All best,

Peter
