The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), established by the UN in 2000, will
expire in 2015.
The UN had charged a High Level Panel with drafting a Post-2015 Development
Agenda.
The Panel's report was published today. Under Goal 10, 'Ensure Good Governance
and Effective Institutions', it also proposes the objective 'd) Guarantee the
public’s right to information and access to government data'.
The report contains more references to transparency and accountability and open
data.
