Tom, Tom told me about these guys last week. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ym3Mt3rvjbg One of their songs, its really good.
For anyone in the DC area, they are playing at the Barns of Wolftrappe on Valentine’s Day with Red Molly, another well know group. Might have to go to that now. O! Tonight on www.concertwindow.com at Club Passim in Cambridge, MA is David Buskin and Robin Batteau, a duo I have been following since 1984. You have heard their commercial jingles in the pass, Heart Beat of America, Today’s Chevy, Chi Chi Cheerio’s, Burger King Town, Advance Auto, just the letters NBC, Amtrak, and others, MD lottery. They have 2 shows tonight and for five dollars, well worth it, as it audio and video. Each show is a separate charge, 7 and/or 9:30. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDiaDF2c6pw One of their classics, Guinevere. Mike From: Tom Hawley Sent: Saturday, January 26, 2013 12:00 AM To: Folksingers Subject: [folksingers] The Steel Wheels I went to see & hear the group The Steel Wheels at East Lansing's Ten Pound Fiddle this (Friday) evening. http://www.thesteelwheels.com/about/ [Do not confuse them with "Steel Wheels Band," a very different group that Google just found for me.] It was a great show. They are four very accomplished musicians and very enthusiastic entertainers. The audience loved them. They play what they call old time mountain music, with guitars, banjos, a mandolin, a bass fiddle, and a violin. If they come your way, go hear them.
